The plant - extraordinary by design
Having advanced machinery and technology is only offering the basics of production. Mayor Packaging’s primary concern is the ability to manufacture a quality product which can satisfy all of the customers’ needs in every aspect. Based upon an ambitious plan to grow beyond the ordinary, and far beyond a local flexible packaging company, the new plant of Mayor Packaging has been built with the sole purpose of meeting the accreditation from global food packaging quality and GMP standards.
Japanese expertise incorporated
Mayor Packaging has had a long and productive association with a major Japanese converter in Yokohama and has used this relationship to good effect in the planning of the new factory at Dongguan China. Japanese expertise has been utilized to design a plant that is capable of meeting the ever changing and challenging needs of the global market for food packaging both now and in the foreseeable future.
Mickey Ho, Chief Operations Officer, has spent over 5 years studying in Japan to refine and improve his expertise in all aspects of planning, technicality and running a successful packaging plant. This knowledge is now reflected in the new factory where design and plant merge seamlessly into a state of the art facility. In his own words however Mickey asserts that he never stops learning, sharing or growing to keep pace with this ever growing dynamic packaging industry.
In the 40 years that Mayor Packaging has been established the company has moved ever forward and upwards culminating in the new factory in Donguang. At a cost of 30 million US dollars, Mayor Packaging has developed only 50% of the land purchased at the outset (100,000 square meters) leaving room for growth and development. In just 20 months the new facility has risen from a Greenfield site and now employs 560 people in 3 shifts. The driving force is now as it always has been, to produce a quality product to comply with customers’ specification. |
